Amanda Bossard was just out her high school days when she started her studies in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her profession as a commercial seafood worker in the year 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner which was converted into a tender for salmon in the name of Murat Aritan who had been working in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has married Aritan. The couple has come together and have claimed their respective industries. Both of them are proponents of saving and maximizing the use of sustainable resources within the fishing industry. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributor in Philadelphia in the year Bossard was able to return from at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre one, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. Its name is an affectionate recall of her extensive expertise in fish biology as well as her husband's lengthy involvement with the fishing industry, frequently leaving them separated for five months or longer when they are focused on their financial and environmental goals which are a reflection of their individuality and determination to serve their communities wherever they reside.
